icon A clone of the classic arcade game Asteroids created by Atari, Inc. in 1979, developed with DIV in 1996 and first ported in 2009, now re-adapted for Dreamcast.

Steroid screen 1

The objective of the game is to destroy all the asteroids that appear from all angles of the screen, shooting a large asteroid will cause it to break into smaller asteroid fragments, making them more difficult to destroy. Points are scored for every asteroid you hit, and once they are all destroyed you advance to the next level. Use thrust to maneuver your ship, and to avoid colliding with an asteroid use the hyperspace function to move to another section of the screen.

Steroid is an example game developed with DIV by Daniel Navarro in 1996, the game was originally ported to Dreamcast in 2009 and featured in the 2009 and 2010 IberDC compilations.
