Star System

icon A mid-1970s style game with black & white graphics that has similarities to the arcade game Avalanche created by Atari Inc. in 1978, developed with Fenix for GP32 and first adapted in 2004, now re-adapted for Dreamcast.

The aim of Star System is to control a paddle and attempt to catch objects as they fall, as the game progresses the perspectives change and the objects move from top to bottom, left to right, and right to left, adding variety to the gameplay.

The original GP32 version of Star System (V0.1) was developed with Fenix by Fagotero, the game only had four levels and was fairly easy to complete, Star System was updated to V0.2 with the difficulty adjusted, new background music, 6 levels and a new scoring system. Both versions of Star System were originally adapted for Dreamcast by Wraggster in November 2004 and first released in December 2004.

This release comprises of Star System (V0.2) along with DCEvolution's version of Chui's Fenix SDL Loader (FSL) from November 2004, edited to exclude the Fenix splash screen and jingle, so the game loads directly.

The controls for the game have been reconfigured to be more user friendly with the Dreamcast controller, no other edits have been made. Due to the alterations made to the game for this release, a download for the original GP32 version has been made available.
