ScummVM Archive Part 4

icon Part Four covers the ScummVM releases from October 2010 to May 2013, a total of 28 additional games were supported by the interpreter during this period. The significant changes to the Dreamcast port were: the support for a ScummVM.ini file in the root of the CD, and the creation of two separate Boot CDs due to the high number of plugin engines now used by ScummVM.

Dreamcast users could now name their games without the text disappearing into the right side of their TV screens, games could be listed in custom order, and custom icons were now easier to use with each game title.

From version 1.2.1 Dreamcast ScummVM Boot CD users would now have to burn two CD-Rs, this was due to the increasing number of supported games and their associated plugin engines, the limited Dreamcast memory would be used up entirely with loading the ScummVM binary and all of the plugins, leaving no memory resources to boot a game. To work around the Dreamcast memory limitations, two Boot CDs were created, the first would have the ScummVM binary and game engine plugins A to Q, the second would have the ScummVM binary and game engine plugins R to Z.
