The objective of the game is to guide your character through various maze levels while consuming all the small yellow dots, you will also need to avoid the multi-colored ghosts roaming around the maze. There are a number of differences between Pacman Remake and the original game. You are not limited to three lives, consuming the yellow dots increases your energy level, which slowly reduces during the level being played, if you bump into a ghost your energy reduces by a large amount, and if your energy is depleted its game over. There is also a time limit for each level, when your time runs out its game over. Bonus points are scored for the amount of energy and time that you have remaining when you complete each level. The ghosts roam around the paths within the maze, but your character is not restricted in the same way, you can maneuver anywhere within the playing field to avoid them, making the game fairly easy to complete.

Pacman Remake was created for BeOS, MacOSX, Linux, Windows, and GP32 by Roland F.B.. A Dreamcast version was created by Roland F.B. and originally released in March 2007.

This release comprises of Pacman Remake along with DCEvolution's version of Chui's Fenix SDL Loader (FSL) from November 2004, edited to exclude the Fenix splash screen and jingle, so the game loads directly.

The text within the game has been re-translated to English, and all graphic file archives have been re-saved for size compression. The WAV music and sound effects have been resampled to the same frequency, balanced for volume, and the music has been cropped to loop seamlessly during game play. The music for the history option within the menu has been replaced. Due to the alterations made to the game, a download for the original version has been made available, the download also includes DCEvo's version of the FSL.
