Epitech is a computer science school based in Paris, France. The Epitech Game Development Laboratory was founded in early 2002 as an attempt to offer students a way to develop their skills through the process of video game development. The laboratory offered an environment dedicated to game development, composed by professional and internal tools such as the Iris 3D engine. The laboratory also provided technical and organizational support to help students to develop for Dreamcast, Game Park32, GameBoy Advance and PC.

The laboratory student projects announced for 2002 are listed below.

Out of the six Dreamcast projects announced, four were included on the Epitech CD compiled on the 30th September 2002. Xela's Quest and Warbot were not included on the CD compilation, neither of these two games were released by Epitech, quite possibly due to their incomplete status at the end of the project year.

Xela's Quest

This was going to be a Role Playing Game (RPG) for a single player, it consisted of the hero travelling through different stages of a heroic fantasy universe, collecting armor and weapons in preparation for a battle with the final monster.

This game was intended as a multi-player (2 - 4 players) and consisted of futuristic robots combating each other, the goal of the game was to be the last robot standing at the end of each round. Each robot featured its own unique characteristics and weaknesses, by using a variety of different weapons combined with speed, power and duration of attack, various amounts of damage would be inflicted on each of the opposing robots.
The only artwork posted on the Warbot project page was the title logo for the game:
