Demoscene

This section features Demo releases in the form of individual CD Images or compilation CD Images. Each CD has been created to compliment the 'Demo Scene', which consists of groups that release scrolling or interactive demos which exploit and expose features of a particular game console - in this case it's the Dreamcast console.

The demos have been created with official Dreamcast development kits and with completely independent development tools, each demo features its own unique style, and many of the demos are regarded as classics in the Dreamcast homebrew community.

DC Tonic

icon DC Tonic is a compilation CD of various games, demos, and game demos produced using the KallistiOS toolkit. It was a collaboration between Cryptic Allusion, Moving Target Software Design, GankSoft Entertainment, and AndrewK of Napalm to produce an attractive Dreamcast (tm) CD to hand out to the attendees of the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo (tm).

Sqrxz

icon Sqrxz is a game that took first place in the Buenzli 2012 competition, initially a cross platform game available for many systems, it was also ported to the Dreamcast in 2010.

 

FruitY

icon Fruit'Y is a game that took fifth place in the Revision 2015 competition, released as a GamePark GP2X game, it was also ported to many different platforms including Dreamcast, GameCube, PSP, Linux, MacOS and Windows.

 

Stercus Accidit

icon Stercus Accidit is a demo that took first place in the Motorola Inside 2006 competition, initially a AGA/060 demo, it was later ported to the Dreamcast along with many other platforms.

 

The (Vertex) Cloud

icon This is a Dreamcast demo which was released at Sundown 2014, the demo entered the Wild category and took first place.

 

Once upon a Time in the East

icon Once upon a Time in the East is a demo that took fifth place in the Buenzli 2012 competition, initially a GP2X demo, it was later ported to the Dreamcast along with many other platforms.

 

Sqrxz 2

icon Sqrxz 2 is a game that took fourth place in The Ultimate Meeting 2010 competition, initially a Dreamcast game, it was later ported to many other platforms.

 

Sqrxz 3

icon Sqrxz 3 is a game that took second place in The Ultimate Meeting 2011 competition, initially a Dreamcast game, it was later ported to many other platforms.

 

Sqrxz 4

icon Sqrxz 4 is a game that took fifth place in the Revision 2014 competition, the game was released simultaneously on 13 different platforms including Dreamcast, PSP, GP2X, Linux, MacOS and Windows.

 

Variance

icon This is another early Dreamcast demo which was released at Mekka & Symposium 2001, the demo entered the console category and took first place.

 

AzurVeda

icon AzurVeda is a development platform and library for the creation of demos which can run on a Windows PC or on the Dreamcast.

 

Yellow Rose of Texas

icon Yellow Rose of Texas is a demo that took first place in the ASSEMBLY 2003 competition, initially a Linux 4K intro, it was later ported to many platforms including the Dreamcast.

 

Wobble

icon This is a Dreamcast demo which was released at Breakpoint 2010, the demo entered the Console/Real Wild category and took seventh place.

 

We are going to KILJU

icon We are going to KILJU is a Dreamcast demo that took first place in The Alternative Party 2005 competition.

 

Viagra

icon Viagra is a demo that took first place in the ASSEMBLY 1999 competition, initially a PC 64K demo, it was later ported to many platforms including the Dreamcast.

 

Sanitized

icon This is an early Dreamcast demo which was released by MoonHazard at the Ultimate Meeting 2004 (tUM*04), the demo entered the Console/Handheld category and took third place. MoonHazard is a demogroup that was formed in 2002 by Tuomas Volotinen and Tero Koivu.

One Day Miracle

icon One Day Miracle is a demo that took 14th place in the Combined 64K category of the ASSEMBLY 2002 competition, it was later ported to many platforms including the Dreamcast.

Megademo IV 2

icon Megademo IV 2 is a demo that took 8th place in the Amiga category of the Mekka & Symposium 1998 competition, it was later ported to many platforms including the Dreamcast.

Jenny Thinks

icon Jenny Thinks is a demo that took fourth place in the ASSEMBLY 2004 competition, initially a GP32 demo, it was later ported to many platforms including the Dreamcast.

 

Hex Pistols

icon Hex Pistols is a demo that took first place in the Motorola Inside 2005 competition, initially a AGA/060 demo, it was later ported to the Dreamcast along with many other platforms.

 

Dose 2

icon Dose 2 is a demo that took fifth place in the Combined demo category of the ASSEMBLY 2001 competition, it was later ported to many platforms including the Dreamcast.

 

Delicious

icon This is an early Dreamcast demo which was released on the 5th August 2001 at ASSEMBLY 2001, the demo entered the console category and took 1st Place.

 

Chrysler

icon Chrysler is a demo that took first place in the Motorola Inside 2004 competition, initially a AGA/060 demo, it was later ported to the Dreamcast along with many other platforms.

 

Anatus 4

icon Anatus 4 is a demo that took 3rd place in the PC category of the Abduction 1997 demoparty, it was later ported to many platforms including the Dreamcast.

 

Reverie

icon This is an early Dreamcast demo which was released at the Ultimate Meeting 2003 (tUM*03), the demo was the only entry in the Dreamcast category, so inevitably it took 1st Place.

 

Raytracement Killers

icon This is another Dreamcast demo which was released at Breakpoint 2005, the demo entered the Console/Real Wild category and took third place.

 

Scenedicate #1

icon Scenedicate was the world's first Dreamcast diskmag, which was released by Dreamcast-Scene in December 2005 (free with a magazine) / January 2006 (internet release). The project had existed since 2003 under its former name Dreamcast Demo Disc. The diskmag contains articles about lifestyle, videogames, Dreamcast, and the general demoscene (with a primary focus on consoles and handhelds) and artwork (analog and digital).

High Society

icon This is an early Dreamcast demo released on the 22nd February 2001 by the demo group High Society.

 

Burritro

icon Burritro is an early demo from the Dreamcast Independent Scene, it originally featured in the Lik Sang sponsored y2kode competition and later featured in an updated form at the 2001 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

A.G.E.

icon A.G.E. (Alles Ganz Einfach - everything's f...cking easy) is the first known Dreamcast demo, created by Hitmen and presented at the Mekka & Symposium 2000, the demo took 8th Place in the Wildcompo category at the event.

 

Planet Hively

icon Planet Hively is a MusicDisk demo featuring the music from the Hively Tracker competition held in 2007, the MusicDisk also features an animated interactive interface.

 

Timeless

icon Timeless by Tran (Tomasz Pytel) is a classic PC demo from 1994. Timeless was the first in a trilogy of software releases (designed specifically as demos) that indefinitely looped PC graphics with music, the demos inevitably became popular screensavers in the 1990s.

 

Led Blur

icon Led Blur is a GP32 (GamePark) demo released by Mindlapse in July 2006, it was also ported to many other platforms. A Dreamcast port of Led Blur by Marq (Fit) appeared a couple of years after the initial GP32 release.
